Container Grown Trees?

Containerized trees are grown using synthetic composts and can be obtained throughout the growing season . Many people enjoy the convenience of container trees because of the smaller root ball allows for the tree can be easily installed  into the existing landscape. Containerized trees are planted with all of its roots allowing for faster growth in the smaller caliber sizes. Containerized trees are wired and staked when installed to prevent the wind from blowing the new tree over.

Balled & Burlap?

Balled & Burlapped (B&B) trees are grown and planted in their natural soils. The majority of the weight and stored food in the roots is retained during harvest. Although loss of the root area does occurs during harvesting, balled & burlap roots regenerate quickly in the landscape once replanted. The retained weight or the size of the root ball of a B&B tree allows the tree to stand alone when installed without the support of wiring and staking. We feel that the B&B technique has proven to be a better option for large caliper trees because of the foundation required to stabilize the larger trees.
