Description:
The Vitex tree is an attractive tree that originated in the Mediterranean and is said to have medicinal qualities. It features clusters of colorful flower spikes in Summer to Fall. The Vitex has aromatic gray-green leaves, and is a rapid grower in the desert, and slower in cooler climates. It can reach heights of 15 to 25 feet , but most specimens in the North Texas area are about 12 to 15 feet tall. It prefers Summer heat for more colorful blooms.
